Silent mediatation and the importance of understanding Karma

-

When someone is introduced to the world of silent meditation and the Incantations (the secret mantras), they may repeat the mantras several times, even dozens of times depending on their free time, to seek peace and make wishes. Some may pray for the well-being of their family and clan. However, it is not easy to achieve what one desires because each person has their own karmic fate. Karma will bring joy or misfortune depending on each individual’s blessings.

If we desire peace and well-being, we must make an effort to understand the meaning and teachings of the Buddhist sutras. We must learn to comprehend the principles and the nature of karma. We must study Hiển Giáo (the exoteric teachings) to understand the cause and effect of karma, and we must know that our body and mind are subject to the laws of karma. We should learn all of these things to prevent our delusions from affecting our progress in meditation. Only by combining Avatamsaka in Sanskrit with Tantric Buddhism (the esoteric teachings) can we follow the right path in our spiritual practice.

Those who do not understand Hiển Giáo will fail in their practice of Incantations. This is because they base their spiritual practice on their own selfish desires and passions. They will eventually suffer because they do not know the right way to follow.

Some practitioners of Karma may expect to gain supernatural abilities or achieve certain states of being. They may hear voices or see unusual images in their minds. They may perceive the presence of deities or bodhisattvas. However, these are just illusions that arise from their own delusions. These illusions do not reflect reality, and they do not represent the true path of spiritual practice. We should not become attached to these illusions or try to distinguish right from wrong based on them.

When we practice Incantations, we should focus on calming our minds and letting go of our desires. We should not expect immediate results or pursue supernatural abilities. We should understand that everything is impermanent and that all things are subject to change. We should not become attached to the teachings, but rather use them as guidance on the path to enlightenment.

We must remember that our actions in the past will determine our fate in the present and the future. If we want to achieve peace and well-being, we must accept the consequences of our past actions and strive to do good in the present. By doing so, we can reduce the negative effects of karma and achieve a better life.
